I'm trying to service my Viking 6020. I'm on p. 71 in the manual. I've loosened the set screws, but cannot rotate the worm gear--moving the fixed cam also moves the needle bar. Any ideas? chriscol
The worm gear gets sticky over time. You can warm it slightly with a hair dryer to get it moving(it will loosen the old oil locking it. Once it is clean it should move freely. You can use a screw drive on the screws to push it on while holding the fly wheel.
