Husqvarna 2000 service and repair

Husqvarna 2000 service and repair tips. Removing covers, sewing foot repair and general repair tips

The needle position not aligning could be because your machine needs a good clean and oiling. I’m not sure if your model have a button hole function. Make sure it is not engaged. Sometimes the shaft where the reverse unit turns in get sticky and does not return with your button hole dial. You will have to oil and warm it up with a hair dryer or use a special release oil. You will get access to it by removing the side cover. It can take a while to work in the fresh oil.

Husqvarna Viking Zig Zag timing

I have replaced the cam and now when I try and do a zig zag pattern the timing is out and the needle starts to zig or zag whilst it is still performing a stitch.

I’ve added two images explaining how to set the Husqvarna Viking zig zag timing, the worm wheel tolerance and a extra diagram for the principle of zigzag synchronisation. This should guide you through the process, else you can always ask a question on the comments box at the bottom of the page.

Husqvarna Viking Zig Zag timing

The general rule for setting the zig zag timing on any sewing machine is as follow, but also apply to setting the Husqvarna Viking zig zag timing:

Set stitch width control at maximum width position. Turn the handwheel, observing that the needle goes straight up with now side movement to a point 2-3 mm above the needle plate. At this point the needle should begin to swing over to the other side. Verify that the needle goes straight down the other side.

If adjustment is necessary, loosen screws on worm gear and turn slightly in either direction.

Sometimes the worm gear can get sticky and won’t move freely. You can warm the worm gear with a hair dryer to loosen the old oil. Applying excessive heat can damage plastic parts of your machine

You can buy the full manual or cam stack gear at these links Husqvarna Technical Manual and the cam stack gear here

Husqvarna Viking Practica III sewing machine stuck in reverse

Husqvarna Viking Practica III sewing machine stuck in reverse

As you can see in picture 6 and 7, the button for going backwards is always pushed, I have to take the big button off to be able to pull the brown button in the center and in this position, the machine is going forward, that is to say that the fabric is going from the inside to the outside of the needle. If it is a problem of oil, if there a recommended brand or is any oil forsewing machine is ok? The problem is that the machine is only goig backwards, I should push a buttn to go backwards but the button is blocked.

The unit must be cleaned. If you push the reverse button in and out you will see it work. You might have to use your hand to push the reverse button out from the back. I'll attach a video at the bottom that will explain it better.
